DIY Pumpkin Spice Recipe: How to Make Pumpkin Pie Spice

There’s no escaping the pumpkin spice season.

Walk into any grocery store and —

BAM!

There it is. Staring you directly in the face.

Now perhaps there has been too much type surrounding the pumpkin spice season over the years, but you know what? I still like it.

It warms my soul and gives me the sense of feeling that cozy sweaters, chilly nights, and slowing down with my loved ones are just around the corner.

And I know this isn’t just me. There’s even actual science behind this.

Plus — done the right way — adding the flavors of pumpkin spice along with homemade pumpkin puree can be so incredibly healthy and nourishing to your body if done the right way.

After all, pumpkin is rich is vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants and is also low calorie, which makes it a weight-loss-friendly food.

Not only that, but warming spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves — all found in pumpkin pie spice — provide your body with tremendous benefits such as healthy digestion, increased metabolism and blood circulation, and are even anti-inflammatory.

Unfortunately, most of what you’ll find on the supermarket shelves or behind your corner coffee house counter is just no good for you or your body as they are loaded with excess processed sugars and artificial ingredients.

This will not only wreck havoc on your waistline, but can totally tank your immune system just in time for the cold and flu season.

No thank you!

But don’t get discouraged. There’s no need to miss out on the deliciousness of the season. Remember — just make it healthy!
